Exercise Demos - Chest

Dips

Dips are a functional basic movement that works mainly the chest and triceps muscles, whilst also recruiting the front shoulders. To increase intensity you can complete the exercise with a weight belt and weight added. Maintain a sound posture throughout the exercise, lower yourself slowly and under control, then power yourself back to the top of the movement. If your aim is to work the chest more, lean slightly further forward, whilst staying more upright can recruit more of the triceps. However, you will find that your body naturally recruits one of these 2 muscles more than the other, this will vary from person to person. A good way to isolate the triceps more, is to pre-exhaust the chest to it is tired before you start.
