Exercise Demos - Chest

 

Incline Dumbbell Flyes

The incline flyes are a great way of targeting the upper chest and giving your chest a good stretch, particularly if you are doing some form of pressing movement in your chest program. They are also a particularly good exercise for women in keeping the bust firm and tight. Use a weight that allows you to work with strict form. Start with the weights above your head and with your arms slightly unlocked. Lower the weight until you feel a stretch in your chest, ensuring you keep your abs tight. Do not allow your back to arch excessively, as this takes the workload off the chest. Return the dumbbells to the start position slowly and concentrating on feeling the contraction.

 

CAUTION – IF YOU HAVE A HISTORY OF SHOULDER PROBLEMS THEN EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN PERFORMING FLYES, OR BETTER STILL, USE A FIXED MACHINE UNTIL YOU FEEL CONFIDENT USING FREE WEIGHTS.
