Exercise Demos - Arms

Incline Hammer Curls

The incline hammer curl is an intense exercise that targets the outer portion of the bicep (brachialis). It is an excellent choice for people wishing to thicken the arms, as well as ladies who want to really isolate and define their biceps. Key points to get the most from this movement, keep the elbow back and the upper arm facing directly down to the floor. As you get tired you will feel that you want to bring the upper arm forward, which allows the front shoulder to get involved, thus taking the work off the biceps. Resist the temptation, and concentrate on isolating the biceps. The movement can be completed both arms together or one arm at a time. As with all movements, maintain a sound abdominal position by focussing on drawing the abs down into the bench.
