Leg Extensions

The leg extension machine works the quadriceps muscle at the front of the leg. Extensions are a movement that should be done strictly, and if done properly can target specifically the vastus medialis (teardrop muscle that supports the knee). Use a slow controlled technique, ensuring you sit tall and maintain a neutral spine position at all times. Make sure you lower the weight slowly, but do not allow it to touch the weight stack as this results in a lessening in intensity.
