Exercise Demos - Back
Seated Rows
The seated row is a sound and safe exercise for developing overall back strength and size. Start with your legs slightly bent, and with a feeling that you are being pulled up through the spine. Draw your abs in so your posture is tight and neutral. For advanced trainers reverse your breathing so that you inhale as you pull the weight up, this will help to raise your diaphragm, giving you the best possible squeeze. Maintain your posture throughout the movement, and do not round your spine at any time, this is stressing the spine, rather than the muscles.
