For those up for a longer walk, we will set off from Winners 2000 Torquay at 8.45am, covering approximately 4.8 miles in around 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can join us at 9.30am at Watcombe Beach Car Park (free parking available) for a shorter route of just over 2 miles, taking about 1 hour 20 minutes.
Both groups will come together to walk on to Maidencombe, where there is a beach café for takeaway drinks or a well earned ice cream before heading back. Suitable footwear is recommended, well behaved dogs are very welcome and families are encouraged to join in.

Our Winners
At Winners 2000, we love seeing our members and trainers achieve their goals, whether it is lifting heavier, competing in an event, or just showing up consistently. This month we are proud to spotlight a few standout achievements.
£800 Raised for David's Determination
A massive thank you to everyone who got involved in our 12 Hour Charity Cycle and helped us raise £800 for David's Determination. Winners 2000 is not just a gym. We value our team, our members and our community, which is why running events such as this is so important to us.
Every single contribution, big or small, will make a real difference to Dave with the ongoing costs of his care, therapy and equipment. We really appreciate the amazing members at Winners 2000. You are what makes this such a supportive community and allows us to help as many people as possible. Thank you.
Evolve Hyrox Simulation
Well done to this incredible group of mums who took part in the very first Evolve Hyrox simulation on Sunday, led by our Newton Abbot trainers Laura and Star.
At Winners 2000, we want to create opportunities for our members to grow in confidence and fall in love with fitness, and this event was a perfect example of that in action. Seeing this community come together and take on a Hyrox simulation was something we are incredibly proud of.
The event was designed to make Hyrox accessible to everyone, with shorter runs, scalable exercises and a supportive, welcoming environment. Many of these women still wanted to challenge themselves and compete at race weight. It was amazing to see so many step outside their comfort zones and give it their all. Many were new to exercise when starting the mum and baby classes, and most had never performed any of the Hyrox exercises before they started training for the event. They have all put in so much commitment and their hard work paid off.
A big thank you to our volunteers Alaska, Kirsty and Skyla, and to Lily for the post event massages, which were very well deserved. And thank you to Laura and Star at Evolve for bringing the event to life.
Kelt X Fitness Event
A huge congratulations to all of our members and trainers who took part in the Kelt X Fitness Event at Westpoint Arena. You represented Winners 2000 to an outstanding standard. Events like this showcase not only the physical strength and endurance of our community, but also the support shown towards each other that makes our gym such a great place to be. We are proud of every single one of you who participated, well done.
Winners 2000 Marathon Runners
Congratulations to all members who participated in marathons this April. It is great to see such strong representation from our Winners 2000 community across the events in London, Manchester and Dartmoor. Well done to our trainer Lloyd who took on the Dartmoor Marathon, and to all of our members including Emily Muskett, Lucy Oliver, Rachel Harrison, Rachel Steele, Harley Law, Austin Gosling, Mark Vernon, Laura Daniel, Alex Narramore and Zoe Hayes who ran the London Marathon. Taking part in any marathon requires significant preparation and commitment, and everyone involved should be proud of their effort.
Will Kempsford
Well done to our trainer Will, who competed at the PCA Naturals Bodybuilding Competition on 18th April. Will used this show to gather feedback and enjoy the experience of competing at the PCA Naturals in preparation for his upcoming GBO show in Exeter on 24th May. Despite being 5 weeks out, Will placed an impressive 6th place and most importantly was the first show with his son Freddie there to cheer him on.
We wish both Will and his clients Jon, Jemma and Chris, who are competing in the upcoming months, the very best of luck. We cannot wait to see what you all achieve and look forward to celebrating your success.
Ben Hopkins
A huge congratulations to our trainer Ben for his performance at his Hyrox races in Malaga this month. Ben competed in both the Pro Solos and Pro Doubles races. Ben achieved an amazing time of 1:04:26 in his solo debut, giving him a 1 minute 31 second PB, and then went on to achieve an outstanding time of 54:47 in the Pro Doubles race with his partner Blake. A 1 minute 18 second PB, 2nd place in age group and securing their qualification for World Champs. We are so proud of you Ben and look forward to seeing you compete at World Championships.
Google Review Competition Winners
Congratulations to our three winners, Lisa Dockree, Savanna Fisk and James Piller, each of whom has received £100 in cash after leaving us a review on Google.
"Since joining Winners almost 4 years ago my life has totally changed. I have lost 35kg, and I am so much fitter, healthier and have gained so much confidence. The staff are always on hand to offer support and explain how the equipment works, they offer great classes which are all well attended. The changing facilities are always clean and well maintained. As a slightly older member I would really recommend Winners."
"The staff and personal trainers are so nice and welcoming."
"The wall removal was a good move but you can still have the more secluded experience in the downstairs rooms if that is your preference. Personally my favourite winners of the 3. Best of both worlds."
We appreciate everyone who took the time to share their feedback as it helps us continue to improve and grow our community. Your experience at Winners 2000 matters to us, and we are always looking for ways to improve. If you enjoy training with us, please take a moment to leave a Google review sharing your thoughts. As a thank you, everyone who leaves a review will be entered into a draw to win £100 cash. It is our way of saying thanks for helping us grow and serve you better.
Winning Trainer Tip
One of the most overlooked fitness habits is warming up properly before training. Spending just 5 to 10 minutes preparing your body can hugely improve performance, mobility and reduce injury risk.
Start with a few minutes of light cardio to raise your heart rate, like a treadmill walk or a gentle row, then move into your dynamic stretches. Depending on what you are training, here is what we recommend.
Upper Body Day
Cat cow, thoracic openers, shoulder dislocations with a band, shoulder circles, chest stretch with a band. Perform each stretch 6 to 8 times on each side for 1 to 2 sets.
Lower Body Day
Deep lunge stretch, glute bridge and single leg glute bridge, open the gate and close the gate, calf raises and deficit calf raises. 6 to 8 reps each side of 1 to 2 sets. Full body can be a combination of both lists.
Strength Sessions
For strength work, include a few lighter sets of your first exercise before you start your working sets. A good warm up helps joints move more freely, improves muscle activation and gets your mind focused for the session ahead.
Master the Hyrox Rules
Understanding the Hyrox rules is key to performing your best and avoiding penalties on race day. Our instructors Loz and James have demonstrated the essentials to help you stay sharp and efficient through every station. You can put all the preparation to the test at our simulation events happening over the next few months.
